SINGAPORE : The government is calling for proposals to build a permanent race track in Changi. This is to help make Singapore into a regional motor sports hub by riding on the F1 fever that has hit the country. Due to its size, the proposed Grade 2 track is not designed for F1, but other smaller races. Races like the A1 are just some of the exciting events that could come to Singapore should this proposed track design materialise. A 20-hectare land off Changi Coast Road will be the site for the permanent facility. Its seafront location will make it one of the most scenic circuits in Asia. More importantly, the track will allow year-round usage and have benefits beyond sport. Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports said: "It is also an industry that we want to promote. A lot of people think the production and building of cars is not something that Singapore has a role in. But contrary to that, if you look at modern cars, there is a lot of research development, high-tech planning and design which goes into it and as Singapore moves up the value chain. Singapore's high precision engineering and our past experience will give us a competitive edge." Testing of cars aside, driver training courses can also be conducted. The track will cost some $84 million and the ministry said there are interested parties. It will be the most compact and efficient in Asia - measuring about 2.8km. "With limited space, there will be a compromise because the longer the track, the more corners there will be. This also means the track is likely to be slower compared to a shorter track. But having said that, you also depend very much on the design of the track," said Fan Chien Jen, Deputy Director, Motor Sports Development Division, Singapore Sports Council. The track will also allow the sport to grow here and develop future champions at a racing academy. "A chance for a driving school perhaps... some kind of academy that'll give the driver a chance to get on the pathway. It will allow the masses to enjoy this, not only as a spectator but also to drive," said Oon Jin Teik, CEO of Singapore Sports Council. The ministry will not fund the project. It will call for proposals both here and overseas in May 2008. The track is expected to be up and running by 2011.

its not a very exciting week, other than my little fies happenings.

my week just revolves around my precious dog, fie. i always come home expecting to clear her urine and shit. haha. dont get me wrong, im not grumbling, ok? its actually fun and exciting to see her actions now and then. shes rather smart, now she knows how to respond to "fie, come here." i was really amazed by it. i will make sure that she will become a smart little dog. haha.

it was a happening day today!

i had a photo shoot in the morning at a studio in geylang. alright! its at geylang but at lorong 32. check out clubsnap if anyone of you are interested to rent a studio for shoot, look for william.

i thought the shoot was good, it was way way different from what i did the previous few times. no more cute and sweet pictures. the shots turned out to be quite cool! i like!

nick is still in the midst of editing them, hope to get them soon. will upload them asap!

and guess what! i got a new family member. my sis just got a chihuahua yesterday and i went to collect it with papabear earlier on. she is so cute la! but damn small, only three- month old. i named her "fie". so exciting!

and thanks papa bear for fetching fie home.

went out with sok yesterday! we went to town to buy qy and yh's presents. it wasnt an easy task. we practically walked up and down the whole of far east to get the most suitable presents for the two of them. me and sok were so tired after shopping, didnt even feel like going any other place for dinner. haha. so we settled at hans. everything tasted so nice when one is tired and hungry!

my clock says its 1.30 am now. yawns!

its not that i dont want to sleep, its because im printing my shitty assignment. ARGH! i couldnt get it printed in school today. all my chinese words went GU GU on the schools computer. i dont understand why they just can install hansvision lo. it isnt hard to install la. they can spend so much monies to re-paint to whole school then why not buy a cheap cheap hansvision to install on their computers. save on the necessary. what the!

presentations on tomorrow. yucks.

poor me have to wake up early to go school on my own again. so sad. am really sad.

met up with yee jia earlier on. we went kbox and roller blading. it was quite amazing that we managed to do these in an afternoon. champion! haha.

anyway, kbox is having promotion now, charging $5++ per pax. the promotion ends this 18th. it was cheap but the service also worth $5++ lo. guess what, we sang halfway, the bloody system was jammed. and it was not just our room, others were affected too. it didnt jam once, but many times in fact. the reason being was, they were repairing the system.

eh hello, why are you repairing our system when there are still crowds? cant save it for later? tsk!

i dont understand lo.

this wasnt the only incident that pissed us off today. hiya! it was a bad day.

BUT spending the day with yee jia was fun. (:

after buffet, went over to les chameaux (place where shiyun held her bday celebration)for a drink. papa bear couldnt forget the little creature beer, so we ordered 5 bottles of that. see! the coaster was so cute! by the way, i took one home. oops!

stephen, moon, papa bear and me of course, talked cock until it was nearly one. it was a long evening.

after a year in my class, i came to realise that i love my class! haha. my class is made up of mostly singaporeans, different age groups, different status and of course different sizes (oops!). the young ones are easy to get along with, eh, maybe a few weirdos (i feel la.) and the slightly senior ones are always so funny! they always have the funniest jokes to share. i enjoy my early fridays with them. (: the atmosphere in class isnt tensed at all, though there might be people trying hard to cross over. we are just like one big family, always helping one and another.
